CATS Ladies emerged as the latest winner of the WAFA League after a 1-0 victory against Papa Ladies in the final of the Super 8 at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State, on Sunday.
Olanrewaju Olamide of Papa Ladies won the Woman of the Match award despite her side’s loss in the grand finale.
The Champions replaced Nakamura FA which won the last edition.
Ghetto Tigers Ladies’ Aishat Bolarinwa smiled home with the highest goal scorer prize as Jane Ijirigho from CATS Ladies was voted the best goalkeeper.
Honour Ladies claimed the Fair Player award while Chinaza Ukandu won the best coach prize.
Overall, Ebube Anyanwu took home the Most Valuable Player gong.
Earlier, Future Stars won the third-place match 3-1 on penalties over Great Stars Amazons after regulation time ended in a goalless draw.
There was also an All-Star match in which NWFL All-Stars edged WAFA All-Stars 3-2.
