Visiting Canon Yaounde picked up a point in Garoua this Sunday afternoon, on match day three of the 2023/24 MTN Elite One championship. They held hosts Gazelle FA to a goalless draw in an entertaining clash that only lacked a goal to show for the spectacle at the Roumde Adjia Annex stadium in Garoua.
Captain Alexis Yogouda Kada and mates entered this Sunday’s contest with hopes of adding to their three points from the first three games against a Canon side that had won their opening two games.
Canon’s coach Vincent Atangana’s trusted 4-4-2 system wasn’t tempted with but the team was set up to explore the width their pacy wingers are noted for.
Unfortunately, both sides didn’t create enough though goalkeepers Mbahbi Marcelin and Karim Bello were called to action on a few occasions in either half.
The game finished goalless after 90 minutes to the disappointment of the fans of both sides who had turned out push their teams at the Roumde Adjia Annex stadium.
Canon remains unbeaten after three round of matches and remains the only side yet to concede since the start of the new season.
Per the result, Canon moves to the submit of the group with 7 points from a possible nine while Marius Kada’s Gazelle FA counts four points which leaves them ranked in the middle of the table going into match day four matches on Wednesday.
