  • Souleymanou Aboubacar is the first Elite One club trainer to be sacked in the 2024/25 MTN Elite One season
  • The trainer only lasted one game as Panthere coach which he watched from the stands due to administrative issues before being served a dismissal letter this Monday
  • Panthere lost to PWD in his only game in charge and will have a new manager against Fauve Azur Elite this weekend

Cameroon Elite One newcomers Panthere of Nde have parted ways with coach Souleymanou Aboubacar barely 24 hours after a defeat in their first league outing of the season.

Coach Aboubacar, who joined the club three months ago as replacement of Soh Simplice who also left in acrimonious circumstances received a unilateral contract termination letter this Monday while still digesting defeat to PWD of Bamenda, courtesy a late goal from Samuel Belemb.

Sources at the club have told kick442.com that there had been disagreements between the coach and the club’s administrators and the latter capitalized on the result to get rid off the former Cotonsport, Canon Yaoundé, Djiko FC of Bandjoun and Fovu trainer.

The dismissal of the one-time U-20 Lions coach marks his shortest stint in the dugout of a club in an over 20 years career in Cameroon.

Panthere must find a new manager to continue their reintroduction in the big time after securing their return as deputy champions of the MTN Elite Two championship last season.

Panthere will travel away to Fauve Azur Elite on match day two of the top-flight championship, with both teams targeting a first win of the season though Fauve Azur Elite already fetched a point.
