Transitional Technical Committee of Cameroon Professional League (CTFP) have revealed the MTN Elite Two championship will be launched this weekend in Bagofit via an exciting contest that will see newbie Union Sportif of Abong Mbang face-off with 2023 Cup of Cameroon winners Fovu of Baham.
A recent release from the office of CTFP Secretary General Faustin Blaise Mbida have it that the Stadium in Bagofit will host the first game of the 17-club championship while the other fixtures will be observed on Saturday.
In some of the mouthwatering Saturday fixtures, Aigle Royal of Menoua will host FAP at the Cenajes Stadium while Bafmeng United will face TKC while Djiko FC will take on Eding Sport for matches counting for Pool A in which ISOHSA will be on standby.
In Pool B Avion Academy welcomes Racing Bafoussam while YAFOOT FC and Dragon grind ashes in a Center Region derby.
On the same day, APEJES welcomes newcomers Atlantic of Kribi while Unisport stays in Bafang to welcome Ngokentundja FC.
The top four clubs in the regular phase of the season will play a round robbing tournament from which the top two teams will be promoted to Elite One while the bottom four teams from the relegation playoffs will graduate back to their respective Regional championships alongside the bottom club from Pool A.
The league is expected to run from December 2024 to June 2025.
The two graduates from Elite Two will join a 14-club Elite One championship next season.
