Cameroon is playing host to a high-level 7-a-side football delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo in Douala, in a three-day working visit aimed at strengthening cooperation and exchanging technical expertise.

The FECOFOOT 7 delegation is led by its President Lorenzo Kisombe, accompanied by Second Vice President Patricia Kisombe Sylvie and Secretary General Guy-Phily Nsa Mputu. Their mission is to understudy Cameroon’s progress in the fast-growing format, as the country is considered more advanced in structuring and organizing the discipline.

The Congolese officials were received by Angu Lesley, Vice President of the 7-a-side Football Association in Cameroon, alongside the Head of the Legal Affairs Committee, Bernard Bassong, and other members of the executive team. Discussions have focused on administrative organization, competition management, and long-term development strategies.

Cameroon has already established functional 7-a-side football bureaus in all ten regions of the country. The championship has been launched in Yaoundé, Douala, and Ngaoundéré, with rollout plans in the remaining regions scheduled for next month.

Meanwhile, preparations are intensifying for the discipline’s maiden World Cup set to take place later this year in Honduras, where Cameroon will be among the participating nations.

The visit highlights growing collaboration between the two Central African countries as they work to elevate 7-a-side football both regionally and internationally.
