Dynamo of Douala are without a Marketing and Commissions counselor. This became the situation from this Wednesday, July 3 after Rene Ekounga aka Arafat who has occupied the position in the last two seasons announced he is stepping down from the role.

The announcement came as a surprise to many who know Ekounga as a key part of the Alphonse Bea projet at Dynamo of Douala.

“Greetings everyone, it’s with regret that I announce to you all that am stepping down from my position as the technical communications and marketing consultant of the actual executives of Dynamo of Douala.”

He further explained that he has been pushed by personal and professional reasons to quit the role while thanking all he has worked with.

The Dynamic Sports Reporter who represents Canal+ in Cameroon played a crucial role in his time with their administration – helping the club secure a partnership with the his employer whose name sometimes featured as their chest sponsors.

Dynamo’s energetic start to 2023/24 season upon their return to the top-flight championship finalized poorly as the club endured a disappointing playoffs campaign, only winning one of their seven matches.

We understand the disappointment of that, plus other internal challenges adn his work schedule may have pushed Rene Ekounga to settle for life without a direct role at the club.

He becomes the second key member of last season to leave – he follows the steps of head coach Yves Clement Arroga who departed after the uninspiring playoff championship in Douala.

While waiting for a replacement for Ekounga Dynamo are currently the mm market for new players ahead of the new season expected to begin in October 2024.
