Bernadette Rayna’s double and FC Ebolowa beat Caiman 3-0

Bernadette Rayna Meyegue struck twice as FC Ebolowa reach the 30 points mark in the 2022/23 Guinness Super League with a 3-0 win at struggling Caiman of Douala at the Mbappe Leppe stadium.

Rayna helped herself to a double while Grace Davilla Medoua scored am own goal as FC Ebolowa reduced the gap over second-placed Eclair of Sa’a to just five points, with leaders Lekie Filles five points ahead.

The teenage forward put the visitors ahead in the 25th minute from a well worked ball that met her inside the area after six passes. Coach Kpoumie Oudou’s side deserved the advantage as they had spent much of the opening moments of the game in the Caiman half.

Rayna made it 2-0 ten minutes home pouncing on a spilled ball from the Caiman keeper who didn’t deal with the corner properly.

FC Ebolowa not noted for scoring many goals got heir third of the game eight minutes from the break as Medoua directed the ball into the net to put the game to bed with a 3-0 score in favor of FC Ebolowa.

Though there were chances at both end with Caiman substitute Dantacke Dorantine creating their best chance of the afternoon midway into the second segment they failed to score.

The game finished on the 3-0 score leaving Caiman just above the relegation zone only because Authentic succeeded to beat a resilient Ngadeu FFA by 1-0 in Ngaoundere.

Caiman is one point clear of the relegation zone with 9 points and didn’t put up a performance that shows they could avoid relegation come the end of the season. In the next match day, they will face Ngadeu FFA who are directly below them with 8 points while FC Ebolowa tighten their grip on the third spot with 30 points, five away from second-placed Eclair of Sa’a.
