The Head Coach of Kenyan women’s national team, Beldin Odemba has summoned 22 players who traveled this Tuesday morning to face Cameroon in the first-leg of the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (AWCON) Qualifiers this month.
Top on the list are top stikers Jentrix Shiganwa, Esse Akida and Vivian Corazone.
Three goalkeepers, six defenders, six midfielders, and seven attackers made the traveling squad.
The first leg of the game will be held in Douala on September 22.
The return-leg of the encounter is slated for Nairobi on September 26.
The winner of the two-legged tie will meet either Gabon or Botswana in the second round for a place at the 2024 AWCON.
Morocco, the host of the 2022 AWCON will host the next edition in 2024, hoping to do better that the runners-up position achieved last time out.
The Indomitable Lionesses have made it to every edition of the tournament since 1998, reaching the final on three occasions in 2002, 2014, and 2018, all ending in defeats to Nigeria.
Kenyan’s sole participation in the tournament was a group stage appearance in 2016.
