Aspiring Cameroon top-flight champion Bamboutos FC of Mbouda have picked Limbe as their base for the 2022/23 MTN Elite One championship playoffs camp.
The Mangwa Boys have opted to be in Limbe and not the host city due to logistics worries raised by the club’s president delegate, De Chateau Kamdoum this Friday on RSI Radio in Douala.
“Bamboutos FC will have their base in Limbe, from which they will travel to Douala for matches throughout the duration of the competition due unavailability of training facilities in Douala.”
Coach Yves Clement Arroga’s men are already in Limbe and train in any of the four modern facilities in the seaside city ahead of their first game this Sunday against Canon Yaounde.
Bamboutos chasing their first league title earned a play-off berth after a great season in which they had the best defence.
The 2018 deputy vice champions open their playoff against 11-time champion Canon Yaounde on Sunday, before facing holders Cotonsport and newcomers Gazelle FA on May 18 and 21 respectively.
