Atezambong Carine set for World Cup debut Friday

Sensational Cameroonian Referee Atezambong Fomo Carine will make her World Cup debut Friday morning when she features as first assistant for the Philippines versus Switzerland clash at the Dunedin Stadium.

The 2023 FIFA World Cup match 3 have the African trio of Vincentia Amedome of Togo and Mali’s Fanta Kone as Referees and assistant referees respectively.

Myriam Marcotte from Canada is the game’s fourth official while Drew Fischer and Adil Zourak are VAR and AVAR respectively plus have Kythryn Nesbitt as offside VAR.

Carine in her tenth international tournament arrives at the global stage after dominating African competitions in the past years.

Having featured at the African Nations Championship, AFCON, AWCON finals amongst others alongside Kone and Amedome the African trio are expected to be at the peak of their powers across the period of the tournament.
