Celebrated Cameroonian assistant Referee Atezambong Carine Fomo has been appointed second assistant Referee for the 2023 CAF Super Cup game to pit USM Alger against Al Ahly SC on September 15 in Saudi Arabia.
Fresh from the 2023 FIFA World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, Carine will almost immediately go back abroad for another tough job in which she has been paid with some of the finest officials on the continent.
Gabonese duo Ditsoga Boris and Pierre Atcho who was Referee in the CHAN 2022 final are first assistant and center Referee respectively.
Senegal’s Sy Issa is the game’s reserve Referee while Ibrahim Mohamed Abdallah from Sudan is the fifth official.
The match officials are expected in Saudi Arabia by the end of this week.
The match is scheduled to take place at King Fahd Stadium in Taif, Saudi Arabia, on 15th September,
The Red Devils will now be seeking their ninth CAF Super Cup in its history, with their last dating back to 2022.
The Reds only lost the cup twice in 1994 and 2015, with the latter coming against an Algerian team, but it was ES Sétif.
Meanwhile, USM Alger won their maiden CAF Confederation Cup earlier this year, beating Young Africans on away goals.
The title is USM Alger’s first-ever continental glory and therefore will take part in their first CAF Super Cup which will also be the first for the team of match officials.
