Moroccan powerhouse AS FAR Women (Association Sportive des Forces Armées Royales) have been named CAF Women’s Club of the Year, capping off a remarkable 2024–2025 season defined by success at both domestic and continental levels.
The prestigious award confirms AS FAR’s status as one of Africa’s most dominant and decorated women’s football clubs, underlining their sustained excellence on the continent.
AS FAR continued their impressive run in CAF interclub competitions by clinching the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League title, following a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Côte d’Ivoire’s ASEC Mimosas in the final. The triumph made AS FAR only the second club in the competition’s history to lift the trophy twice, further cementing their legacy.
Their continental dominance has been consistent. The Rabat-based side narrowly missed out on back-to-back titles in the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League, falling in the final to TP Mazembe of DR Congo after a closely contested encounter.
Domestically, AS FAR stand unrivaled in Moroccan women’s football history. The club has captured the Moroccan Women’s Championship a record 12 times and lifted the Moroccan Women’s Cup on 12 occasions, bringing their domestic trophy haul to an astonishing 24 titles. On the continental stage, AS FAR boast five major trophies, including three UNAF Women’s Champions League titles.
AS FAR have further solidified their reputation as a continental force with a resilient showing in the inaugural FIFA Women’s Champions Cup. The Moroccan champions reached the semi-finals after impressive victories over teams from Colombia and China’s Wuhan, setting up a high-profile clash against UEFA Women’s Champions League holders Arsenal Women on January 28, with a place in the final at stake.
With a growing list of achievements and consistent performances on the global stage, AS FAR Women continue to set the benchmark for excellence in African women’s football.
