- Arrey Jefta scored his first goal in his first game of the season for ISOHSA of Limbe
- ISOHSA defeated Panthere of Nde 1-0 at the packed Limbe Centenary stadium this Saturday to mark a winning start to life in the MTN Elite Two championshipÂ
Arrey Jefta has sealed a first-ever win for Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) of Limbe as he scored late to win a game the hosts could have killed even before the winner.
The former Continental FA of Buea forward scored the winner 12 minutes from time to end Panthere’s resilience in a game ISOHSA had squandered easier chances to score.
Jefta followed up a rebound from his own effort to ensure the newly-promoted side got their season underway with all three points.
Albert Tiku Egbe and Babo Brandon squandered a gilt-edge opportunities in the opening 45 minutes as coach Nlend Ayme’s boys dominated without finding the end product.
Dieudonne Onege replaced Eben Tommy at the interval while Mukete Ayong came on for Babo Brandon an attempt to breakdown the Panthere resistance.
ISOHSA multiplied their offensive moves, making multiple incursions upon resumption but couldn’t breakthrough.
Arrey found the back of the Panthere net in the 78th, marking ISOHSA’s first goal in the second tier of Cameroon football on their debut in the competition.
Though there were heart in mouth moments in the closing of the game there wasn’t another goal as both sides only registered near misses.
The game finished 1-0 in favour of the hosts who back home their first three points on entry into the MTN Elite Two championship.
ISOHSA will face Djiko FC of Bandjoun in their next outing on Wednesday.
