Dynamo of Douala produced a clinical second-half performance to dismantle Aigle de La Menoua’s previously impenetrable defense, running out 2-0 victors in a pulsating Matchday 4 encounter.
The home side’s triumph was built on goals from Jules Armand Kooh and a spectacular free-kick from Joseph Alexandre Nde, ending Aigle’s proud record of three consecutive clean sheets to start the campaign.
Coming into the fixture on the back of a narrow 1-0 defeat, Dynamo knew they faced a stern test against opponents who had yet to concede this season. Aigle boss Coach Koung named a formidable starting XI, with the likes of Ndiforchu Blaise, Bryan Ramses, Eden Creol, and former Dynamo man Pange Lobe all deployed from the off, signaling his side’s intent to extend their defensive resilience.
The opening 45 minutes lived up to its billing as a tactical chess match. Both sides traded blows in a high-intensity affair, yet clear-cut opportunities remained frustratingly elusive. The deadlock remained firmly intact at the interval, with neither goalkeeper seriously troubled despite the committed approach from both teams.
The match truly came alive after the restart. Aigle threatened first when Ndiforchu’s well-struck free-kick was confidently gathered by Dynamo custodian Manuel Maurice in the 45th minute.
The decisive moment arrived in the 50th minute when Dynamo finally unlocked their opponents’ stubborn rearguard. Arrey Jefter’s perfectly weighted pass found Jules Armand Kooh, who made no mistake in beating Aigle goalkeeper Michel Fansu to break the deadlock and send the home faithful into raptures.
Five minutes later, Dynamo doubled their advantage in spectacular fashion. Joseph Alexander Nde stepped up to take a free-kick from the right flank and produced a moment of individual brilliance, curling his effort directly into the net with Fonsu rooted to the spot.
Dynamo made three substitutions in the 70th minute as they looked to see out the contest
Speaking after the final whistle, Dynamo coach Soh Simplice revealed the homework that had paved the way for victory.
“We studied Aigle’s match against AS Fortuna closely and noticed their goalkeeper was forced into several saves,” he explained. “It told us their defense wasn’t quite as watertight as the statistics suggested, and we knew if we remained patient and clinical, opportunities would come.”
The result sees Dynamo bounce back emphatically from their earlier setback, with three home wins, while Aigle will need to regroup quickly after seeing their impressive defensive record shattered just four days in
