Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon forward Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene played a crucial part as her Russian Women’s Football League club CSKA outclassed Dynamo in the Moscow derby on match day 12 of the championship.
Aboudi provided the assist for the second goal scored by Kseniya Kovalenko midway into the second segment to ensure they open a two-goal lead after Serbian forward Nevena Damjanović had given them an early lead.
Though Galina Geybieva halfed the deficit deep into the second segment, CSKA hanged on to register another win in the game they weren’t at their usual great shape.
The result puts CSKA on the second spot on the log with 33 points, a point behind leaders Zenit St Petersburg Ladies midway into the season.
Aboudi’s latest assist is her sixth of the season she also counts nine goals in 12 matches.
CSKA travels to WFC Krylya on match day 13 this weekend. They will be hoping their veteran Cameroon will be at her best to stir them to another win.
