Cameroonian international Raissa Mbappé Etoundi has secured a new challenge in Spain, joining Cacereño Femenino on a one-year deal for the 2026/27 season.
The experienced forward makes the switch from Real Oviedo Femenino, where she spent the 2025/26 campaign, and will remain in Spain’s Primera Federación — the country’s second tier of women’s football.
The move comes just weeks after Mbappé Etoundi was part of the Cameroon squad that conquered Africa at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The 32-year-old was included in the Indomitable Lionesses squad throughout the tournament as Cameroon secured the continental crown, adding a major international honour to an already experienced career.
Mbappé Etoundi has built much of her recent career in Spain. Before joining Real Oviedo in 2025, she played for CF Alhama, helping the club achieve promotion to Liga F, while she previously made a significant impact at Getafe, scoring 19 goals during their promotion campaign to Primera Federación.
She also has international club experience from her time with Serbian side Red Star Belgrade, giving her a career that has taken her across different European football environments.
Cacereño are now adding that experience to their squad as they prepare for another Primera Federación campaign. The Spanish club began the new season under long-serving coach Ernesto Sánchez, with a significantly renewed squad.
For Mbappé Etoundi, the move represents another chapter in Spain following her spell at Oviedo — and an opportunity to continue her club career after celebrating one of the biggest achievements of her international career with Cameroon.
