Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses have departed for Morocco to begin their final preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which will take place from July 26 to August 16.

Led by National Team Coordinator Dimitri Lipoff and Head Coach Valentine Nguelle, the squad left Cameroon on Tuesday for a pre-tournament acclimatization camp in Morocco, where they will fine-tune their preparations before the start of the competition..

The Lionesses made the journey dressed in specially designed outfits by renowned Cameroonian fashion designer El Dabo, drawing admiration as they departed in style to represent the nation at Africa’s biggest women’s football tournament.

Cameroon have been drawn in Group D, with all their group-stage matches scheduled to be played in Casablanca.

The Lionesses will begin their campaign against Mali on July 27, before taking on Ghana on August 2. They will conclude the group phase against Cape Verde on August 5.

The acclimatization camp is expected to allow the technical staff to help the players adjust to local conditions while putting the finishing touches to tactical and physical preparations ahead of the opening match.

Under the guidance of Dimitri Lipoff and Valentine Nguelle, Cameroon will be aiming for a strong showing at WAFCON 2026 as the seven-time semi-finalists seek to challenge for their first continental crown.

With the countdown to the tournament entering its final days, the Indomitable Lionesses will now shift their full focus to their opening Group D encounter against Mali as they look to begin their campaign on a positive note.
