Cameroon international Bryan Mbeumo was on target as Manchester United closed their Premier League season with an impressive 3-0 victory away to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
The Indomitable Lion scored United’s second goal just before halftime, calmly finishing a well-worked attacking move to put the visitors firmly in control at the Amex Stadium.
Patrick Dorgu had opened the scoring for the Red Devils before captain Bruno Fernandes added a third goal in the second half to complete a dominant performance from Michael Carrick’s men.
Mbeumo’s strike continues the Cameroonian forward’s strong finish to the season. The former Brentford attacker had also scored earlier this month in United’s dramatic 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest, showing signs of renewed confidence during the closing weeks of the campaign.
Since arriving at Old Trafford last summer, the 26-year-old has established himself as one of United’s most important attacking players thanks to his pace, versatility and relentless work rate.
The victory ensured Manchester United secured a top-three finish in the Premier League and qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
