AS Dibamba secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Éclair de Sa’a in a tense Guinness Super League Matchday 9 encounter this Tuseday at the CTF Odza, with a late goal sealing all three points for the visitors in dramatic fashion.

The visitors made a perfect start, taking the lead just two minutes into the game through Ngum, who capitalised on an early opportunity to put As Dibamba ahead and silence the home crowd.

Éclair’s afternoon quickly became more complicated when Tchomté was booked in the 19th minute before being sent off in the 35th minute after receiving a second yellow card. Reduced to ten players before half-time, Éclair went into the break trailing 1-0 and facing an uphill battle.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, the hosts responded with determination after the restart. Their persistence paid off in the 48th minute when they were awarded a penalty. Nkoussa stepped up and calmly converted a minute later to level the score at 1-1, reigniting hopes of a comeback.

The second half saw both sides make several changes, with Éclair reshuffling their squad in search of control, while As Dibamba also adjusted their setup to regain momentum. The game grew increasingly physical, with bookings issued to both teams as tensions rose.

Just as the match seemed to be heading for a draw, AS Dibamba of captain Ajebe delivered the final blow. In the 88th minute, Nguemkem found the back of the net after being set up by Nsoga, restoring the visitors’ lead and stunning Éclair late on.

There was little time for a response, and after four minutes of added time, the final whistle confirmed a crucial 2-1 win for As Dibamba.

The result sees As Dibamba strengthen their position in the league standings, while Éclair de Sa’a are left to reflect on what might have been, having battled bravely with ten men for much of the contest.
