Matchday Three of the MTN Elite Two championship begins this Friday as Pool B teams return to action across the country.
Kumba City FC travel to Yaoundé to face Yafoot FC at the CAF Technical Center in Odza. The home side is yet to record a win this season, having drawn against Racing of Bafoussam in their opening game before suffering defeat to Bafmeng United in their second outing. They will be eager to avoid another winless result against an in-form Kumba City side that has won its last two matches. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30pm Cameroon time.
On Saturday, another Pool B fixture will see Racing of Bafoussam host Bafmeng United at the Bamendzi Stadium in Bafoussam at 1:30pm. Racing are still searching for their first victory of the campaign following a draw against Yafoot in their opener and a defeat to Kumba City in their second match.
Bafmeng United, meanwhile, responded strongly after losing their opening game to Kumba City, bouncing back with a 2–1 victory over Yafoot FC at home. That result serves as a significant morale booster for the North West side ahead of Saturday’s clash.
The remaining Pool B matches will be played concurrently on Sunday at 3:30pm. Bamboutos FC of Mbouda, still without a win this season, will host fellow winless side Tonnerre Kalara Club. Meanwhile, the Stade Annex in Douala will stage the encounter between Avion Academy and Union Sportive of Abong Mbang, who arrive having won their last two matches.
In Pool A, Eding Sport of Lekié will be aiming for their first win of the season when they take on AS FAP of Yaoundé at the CAF Technical Center on Saturday at 1:30pm.
At 3:30pm on the same day, three Pool A fixtures will kick off simultaneously. At the Bamendzi Stadium in Bafoussam, winless Sable de Batié will host an impressive Union of Douala side. In Kribi, Atlantic FC will look to maintain their fine form when they face Ngoketunja FC at the Afan Mabe Stadium. Ngoketunja come into the match seeking a second consecutive victory after losing their opening fixture to AS FAP.
The final Pool A game, scheduled at the FECAFOOT Technical Center in Odza, will see Apejes of Mfou attempt to avoid a second straight defeat as they host an in-form Les Astres of Douala, who remain unbeaten in their last two MTN Elite Two matches.
