The countdown to the much-anticipated Interpools 2025 has officially begun, as the draws held this Friday at the FECAFOOT headquarters in Tsinga, Yaoundé, unveiled the composition of the two groups that will determine who joins Cameroon’s Elite Two next season.
The atmosphere was charged with excitement as clubs, fans, and football stakeholders discovered their fate.
Pool A, which will be hosted at the FECAFOOT Technical Centre in Odza, promises fireworks with a fascinating blend of tradition, youth, and ambition. Among the participants are Kumba City FC of the South-West, flying the flag of the passionate coastal region and determined to make history. They are joined by Diamant FC de Yagoua from the Far North, a side known for its resilience and rugged style of play, as well as Sable FC de Batié, one of Cameroon’s most iconic names with a rich legacy and a nationwide fan base.
Adding more spice is AS Olympique de Meiganga from the Adamawa region, a proud side ready to shock the heavyweights, while the Centre Region’s representative will bring the capital’s hopes and ambitions to the group. With tradition-heavy clubs like Sable Batié and Olympique Meiganga, Pool A is already being dubbed the “Group of Tradition.”
Over in Pool B, which will be hosted at the CAF Technical Centre in Mbankomo, the competition is expected to be just as fierce. The group has been nicknamed the “Group of Dreams,” thanks to the presence of rising forces and ambitious challengers.
Mintack FC du Septentrion of the North will bring power and determination to the contest, while Titanic FC Samar from the Littoral carry big ambitions to live up to their “Titanic” name. Ntoung Ngouong FC from the East are hungry to prove themselves on the national stage, and Épervier FC of Ebolowa from the South enter the fray with regional pride and the will to soar. To round out the group, Dream Team of Bamenda from the North West stand out as early favorites, bringing flair, passion, and a proven pedigree at this stage of the competition.
The Interpools has always been more than just football, it is the ultimate showcase of regional pride, ambition, and the dream of climbing into the professional ranks.
This year’s edition promises to be one of the most competitive ever, with no easy groups and every team believing they can write their name in history. As the whistle prepares to blow, one question remains: Who will rise above the rest and claim a place in Elite Two?
