Experienced FIFA certified Referee Ngwa Blaise Yuven has returned to action in the Cameroon domestic championship for the first time in 18 months.
The 43-year-old elite FIFA referee led the team that took charge of AS Fortuna versus Canon Yaoundé last Sunday, February 2 at the military stadium.
The return of Blaise who was suspended alongside 23 others in June 2023 for breach of refereeing ethics was a major highlight of the derby that finished on a 2-2 score.
Despite the controversies surrounding the suspension, the native of Nso in the Northwest region of Cameroon kept working and waiting for his moment which finally came after he missed the AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire amongst other international events due to his non-involvement in the domestic championship.
Now that he is finally back in action it is expected he has a run of games under his belt before returning to the international scene.
Blaise already featured in the African nations championship, Africa Cup of Nations, U-17 AFCON, CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup amongst others.
