Cameroon: ISOHSA players firing on all cylinders for the U-20s

Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) of Limbe players Simo Gedeon and Jefta Arrey Oduak, who currently in the U-20 Lions of Cameroon camp have continued in the rich vain of form that made them the attraction of last season and caught the attention of the national team staff.

Simo and Jefta have created a telling impact in less than ten days into their invitation to the coach Yvan Kenmoe’s squad of players preparing for the 2024 Union of Central African Football Federation (UNIFFAC) U-20 zonal tournament.

This Thursday’s win at the CAF Excellence Center,  Jefter Arrey, Yvan Noh and Patrick Edzimbi scored to earn a 3-1 win against Yaoundé 1 formation in their latest pre-tournament victory during the current camp.

Jefta’s goal makes it three goals and an assist from the ISOHSA production unit as the national team staff perfect it. A few days earlier Simo scored a brace in the 4-0 win against AS Esa in another friendly.

Jefta, one of ISOHSA’s main arm last season scored six goals and made eight assists across the 20 game season but had to wait to earn a late call up while Simo’s debut campaign for the People’s Royal Elephants was highlighted by his 40 meter screamer to mount the comeback win against Dragon of Yaoundé was included in the first squad preparing for the tournament scheduled to start on September 11.

Cameroon will switch their attention to the competition in Congo immediately after the end of this camp.

The Cubs will open their competition on September 17 against Central Africa Republic before clashing with Gabon two days later in the determiners of the teams to qualify for next year’s AFCON for the category.
