Angu Lesley, the Vice President of Isle of Hope Academy (ISOHSA), has outlined the critical requirements for clubs interested in acquiring their star striker, Njuma Ikose Conrad.

The young forward has been making waves in the second division, and Lesley made it clear that Njuma will only depart if the club receives a compelling sporting and economic offer.

Lesley remarked, “Njuma, like Agbor Bogard, Amih Renzo and others in the past will only leave if we receive the right sporting and economic offer. Without which he will be part of our squad to battle for promotion next season.”

This statement underscores the strategic position ISOHSA holds in the current transfer market, where they are fielding numerous inquiries from both domestic and international clubs.

Notably, Colombe Sportive of Dja, one of last season’s title contenders, submitted a bid of a paltry 500,000 francs, which was promptly rejected by the club. This rejection highlights ISOHSA’s commitment to retaining their prized asset amid escalating interest.

Beyond Cameroon, several clubs from Saudi Arabia, Spain, and England have expressed interest in acquiring the second division’s standout performer.

However, despite the flurry of offers, ISOHSA remains steadfast in its objectives, prioritizing the long-term development of the player and the club’s competitive aspirations.

Njuma has emerged as the most valuable asset in the second division this season, boasting an impressive tally of 15 goals and four assists.

The 18-year-old forward finished as the league’s top scorer in just his second season in the tier, showcasing his extraordinary talent and poise in front of goal. His moniker, “small nine,” reflects both his stature and his significant impact on the pitch.

Njuma’s journey through the ranks has been nothing short of remarkable. He first made headlines at the Catholic University Sports Academy, where he clinched the top scorer title with 15 goals. He then continued to shine at Victoria United, leading the team in the 2022-2023 Cup of Cameroon campaign through different struggles.

At ISOHSA, he was transformed into a more confident player that the team played for. That helped him finish the season as the best scorer and reach the semi-finals of the prestigious Cup of Cameroon, further solidifying his reputation as a game-changer.

Having moved to ISOHSA from Victoria United for nearly half a million, Njuma is under contract with Isle of Hope Academy. His contract commitment not only reflects the club’s faith in his abilities but also positions them strategically in future negotiations and their ambitions to make Elite One next season.
