It all started on Monday 1st of July when CATS LADIES began their WAFA League Super 8 campaign with an excellent 3 – 0 win over Prince Kazeem Eletu Queens.

They also went ahead to take on SGH Sports Amazons in the second game of Group A but ended their last game against Future Stars 99 Queens with a 3 – 0 heavy defeat which put their qualification on the line.

Luckily for the CATS Ladies, Eletu Queens could not smash SGH Sports Amazons 4 goals to nothing but the game ended in a draw which gave the semi-finals tickets to the CATS Ladies to face Great Stars Amazons who top Group B with 7 points.

The game between CATS Ladies and Great Stars Amazons ended up in a goalless draw and CATS Ladies outshined Great Stars Amazons 3 – 1 in a penalty shootout to emerge as finalists.

On the other hand, Papa Ladies finished second in Group B behind Great Stars Amazons after a comeback 2-1 win over Aseyori Queens, 2-1 over Chosen Generation Angels, and a draw with Great Stars Amazons which set them up in a Semi-Final clash against Future Stars 99 Queens, the log leader of Group A.

Papa got the only goal of the game with a second-half kick-off goal by Yinusa Zainab to book a place in the Final against CATS Ladies today Sunday 7th July 2024 at Remo Stars International Stadium, Ikenne in Ogun State by 3 pm.

It has been a wonderful Super 8 encounter and a lot of talents have been discovered as Wafa always has it as their tradition to produce the best women football talented players in the Grassroots.
