In the semi-finals of the cup of Cameroon is billed for this Saturday in Yaounde, Colombe Sportive will face Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA ) of Limbe at the CAF excellence center in Mbankomo at 3pm with Aigle Royal of the Menoua against Mintack FC of upper sanaga to go on simultaneously at the CAF Technical Center Odza.
All four teams will vy for the final spot and a chance to win their very first Cup of Cameroon title.
Colombe Sportive of the South has been granted a redemptive shot at the Cup of Cameroon’s glory. After being ousted in last year’s semifinals by the eventual champions, Fovu of Baham, the South Doves are poised to face Isles of Hope Sports Academy in a bid for the final showdown.
The team has distinguished itself as the most formidable force in the competition, netting a total of ten goals and maintaining four clean sheets. Anchored by the stalwart goalkeeper Idrissou Nfor, with a midfield orchestrated by the adept Randy Ntube, and flanked by inventive forwards such as the promising Edzimbii Patrick and the dynamic Floran Mbatoum, the team is determined to deliver their utmost performance.
Isles of Hope Academy, however, stand as formidable contenders. Having triumphed over the storied champions Canon, the People’s Royal Elephants are fueled by a renewed resolve to etch their name in history. Their roster, seasoned by encounters with teams across the spectrum, features a captain renowned for his exceptional free-kick prowess, alongside a cadre of spirited young talents, setting the stage for what may be the defining match of the Semi-finals.
In Odza, Aigle of Menoua will confront Mintack FC. While the annals of history might cast this as a David versus Goliath tale, the realities of football render the contest wide open to both sides, particularly in light of Mintack’s impressive performance against AS Fortuna.
Aigle, having edged two of their last three matches via penalty shootouts, look to replicate their standout performance against Mbalmayo, which remains their benchmark in this tournament. With some of its key players set to return, Aigle is expected to soar.
Mintack, meanwhile, aims to capitalize on the insights gained from victories over teams like As Fortuna, Ciseaux FC, Bang Bullet, and notably Aigle of Mungo.
The 2024 Cup of Cameroon is set to bestow its 26th champion, and with none of the semifinalists having previously clinched the title, the stage is set for a historic victory.
