Historic Cameroon top-flight club, Yong Sports Academy (YOSA) of Bamenda have completed formalities and signed a partnership with Precious Ladies FC.

The two Northwest football franchises agreed to work together after weeks of negotiations aimed at enhancing the development of both clubs.

A release from the YOSA communications department on Tuesday confirmed the intentions of the move.

“We are pleased to inform our ever committed fans and the general public that as part of our restructuring plan, we have engaged in a new partnership with the management of Precious Ladies FC of Bamenda.”

“The partnership will provide us an opportunity to support women’s Football and create a platform for women to showcase their talents.

The management of YOSA FC considers this partnership exciting as this is in line with the team’s plans to promote gender equality in sports and provide equal opportunities for women’s Football especially in our region,” the release from the YOSA Media division read.

The partnership with the second tier club helps YOSA to meet the Cameroon Football Federation’s prerequisite of a women’s team for all clubs participating in Elite championships.

YOSA are preparing for their 16th season in the top-flight championship, having earned promotion in 2009. Newbie, Precious Ladies are preparing for their second season in the Northwest Regional championship.
