For the third year in a row, maiden winners of the CAF Women’s Champions League, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies made it to the last four of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
The South African champions edged debutant, Sporting Club Casablanca 1-0 in the second group game to reach the semi-final.
Melinda Kgadiete’s 42nd-minute goal sealed a slim win which was enough to seal the passage of the South African league winners into the semi-final.
The team had recorded a 2-0 win against another debutant, JKT Queens thanks to goals from Lebohang Ramalepe and Tholakale Refliwe.
Sundowns have made it to the semi-final of the first three editions of the CAF Women’s Champions League in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Second place remains up for grabs on Saturday when the final Group B games take place.
JKT Queens moved to the second position after a comeback 2-1 win against host, Athletico FC.
The East African side will need a favourable result in the last group B game with CS Casablanca.
Athletico FC needs a win against Mamelodi Sundowns to have any chance of making it to the semi-final.
